Set firewall and antivirus exceptions

The working speed of depends significantly on the settings in the firewall as well as in the antivirus program. Please have the exceptions listed below done in your systems by your administrator / EDP technician.

The hotline team of moveIT Software GmbH is not allowed to make these settings with you!

Firewall exceptions

• In the network, it is necessary to release the database port (default: 2501).

• For the communication: If you use a moveIT order address, the address moveitorder.com including the ports (in the standard 995 and 587) should be released. Should you use your own address to order, this must be agreed with your administrator / technician.

• For the live update: Here is the address moveitupdate.com release including the HTTP port 443.

Anti virus exception

Antivirus software and Microsoft Defender can affect the installation and performance of moveIT programs. To avoid this, exclude the following processes, directories and/or file extensions from real-time scanning (on server & client for network versions):

Processes

As a priority, you should exclude the processes 'iss.exe' and 'prowin.exe' on the clients on which a moveIT program is started and on the database server from the real-time search of the respective anti-virus program:

On the database server, the processes '_mprosrv.exe', '_mprshut.exe' und '_mtprosrv.exe' should also be excluded from the real-time check.

Directories

If you can exclude entire directories, then you should exclude the network drive path/UNC path and the physical path on the database server. On the clients on which a moveIT program is running, the network drive path/UNC path should be excluded.

File extensions / file types

Additionally, it can be useful to create exceptions for the different file types used by moveIT products. Here you can see a list of some file types used by moveIT programs:

• JMB_ISS_*.DLL,

• .DB,

• .D1,

• .D2,

• .B1,

• .B2,

• .PL,

• .R,

• .WRX,

• .BAS,

• .COL,

• .LG,

• .LOG

Remarks

In the antivirus settings, look for the term “Exclude” apps and programs (or a similar option) to exclude the above items. Normally only one antivirus program should be active at a time - using several antivirus programs at the same time can have a huge impact on the general performance of your systems.
