How are program updates manually installed in moveIT ISS+?

If the live update in moveIT ISS+ does not work due to technical discrepancies, it is possible to import program updates and master data manually .

To check whether the program version is up to date , open the tab "Application history" via [?] [Program features].

The Program Properties window is used for information and control for manual maintenance in moveIT ISS+.

Manual program updates via .EXE file

Program updates and license data are imported into the system by means of a .EXE file. Master data is the only exception here and will continue to be installed via [File] [Import Master Data]. If you use moveIT ISS+ as a network installation, these updates can be performed from any client, and the database does NOT need to be stopped before the update. However, make sure that ALL users have opted out of the program before starting the update.

In the case of a single-user version, the program MUST be closed beforehand.

The moveIT hotline can be contacted if a specific update is needed. Then you will receive a download link where you can download the installation file.

Make sure that you also have the authority to install an update in moveIT ISS+.

You start the previously downloaded .EXE file by double-clicking.

Now select the desired installation language in the following window and confirm the entry with [OK].

In the "Welcome" window that follows, you will find information about the installation.

Now click on the [Next] button to continue the installation.

In the [Update] window, you now have to enter the path to the ISS.EXE.

You can either search for this path by clicking on the selection field [...], or alternatively you can right-click on the moveIT ISS+ start link. In the menu that appears, click on Properties. The "Properties of iss.exe" window opens. The path to the ISS.EXE can be found in the [Destination] line.

Now copy it and paste the path into the installation.

To start the installation, click on the [Next] button.

In the following window, you will be informed that the update has been carried out successfully.

To complete the update, please click on [Finish].

Install masterdata manually

Both master data and master data adjustments for the respective industries can be found in our Live Update. If you need a specific master data version that is not available in the Live Update, you can contact the hotline.

Product master data is published as zip files. These zip files can be imported into moveIT ISS+ without unzipping them as follows:

Click on [File] [Import master data...].

In the following Explorer window, select the corresponding zip file and click on [Open].

After selecting the zip file, the installation of the master data version begins immediately. 

Installation time

The installation time may vary due to the size of the data and may therefore take longer. We therefore recommend that the installation be carried out at a quiet time.

As soon as the installation is finished, the following message appears, which you confirm with [OK].
